Math & compling are for everybody.
The Alchemist is dedicated to making the latest math and computational linguistics (compling) news and discoveries as accessible as possible. By combining visual and logical learning techniques, I hope viewers can learn that they’re not bad at problem-solving — they just haven’t found the learning technique that can spark their interest.
Math & compling are applicable.
In a world where AI is transforming the education and job landscape, learning the underlying theory behind it is increasingly important. AI safety is just as important as AI innovation; math and compling can explain both. Problem-solving, a skill gained by these two fields, is transferrable to any other.
Math & compling make you feel awe.
Awe: The feeling as you listen to music that touches your soul, or when you see a double rainbow at the Grand Canyon. Math and compling, believe it or not, can make people feel the same way.
Who am I?
Who am I?
Hey! My name is Karen Chen and I’m currently a high school student in Vancouver, British Columbia. Being interested in math from a young age, I’m seeking to use this blog to combine it with computational linguistics (CL) to present some of my past experiences and knowledge. I typically use visual learning (comic strips!) to write up pages, and I update around once a week/whenever I have time :)
